Norfolk —Hope W. Price, 94, died November 19, 2015.
She was a native of Henderson, N. C. and was the daughter of the late Taylor and Grace Weaver Watkins.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband James Guy Price, MD. and her siblings, T.J. Watkins, Jr., Vivian W. Keeton, and Jere E. Watkins. Hope is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families and a host of friends.
Hope graduated from Madison College and the University of Virginia School Of Nursing. She initially worked as a private duty nurse and late in 1947 became the office manager and secretary for her husband’s medical practice until his retirement in 1979. She later worked as a home health nurse, an insurance nurse and a nurse at St. Paul’s Infant Center until her retirement in 1985.
Hope was a member of Ohef Sholom Temple and its Sisterhood, the Women’s Auxiliary of the Norfolk Academy of Medicine, Virginia Nurses Association and the Comforting Circle of the King’s Daughters and formerly of the Edgewater Point Garden Club and the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club.
Memorial donations to The Ballentine Home Foundation and The Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters.
Funeral Services were held in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Burial took place in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
